Stelios Zahariou was born in Athens. A talent in music, he receives his first stimuli from his family, a family of musicians. At the age of nine he joined the children’s band of the Municipality of Athens. During his adolescence, he continued with the band of the Municipality of Athens, while at the same time he studied monody and trumpet in the Conservatory of Athens.
He studied drums in Boston and New York, where he knew jazz and the percussion of Latin, Caribbean, Brazilian, Αfro-Cuban and Cuban music.
Since 1983 he has been living in Athens. He has cooperated with all the artists of the Greek music, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens, the Variety Music Orchestra of ERT (Greek Radio and Television) and the State Orchestra of Greek Music under the direction of the Greek composer Stavros Xarhakos. He also cooperated with international musicians such as Celia Cruise, Eroς Ramazoti, Vicky Leandros, Blondie, Army of Lovers, Full Circle and many others.
